Thomas "Tom" V. Yanacheak Moville, Iowa - Thomas "Tom" V. Yanacheak, 67, of Moville, Iowa died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Greving officiating. Burial will be in Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon Monday, April 6 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a vigil wake service at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation resumes Monday from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time at the church. Theξ family is receiving condolences online atξwww.armstrongfuneral.com. Thomas "Tom" V. Yanacheak was born June 29, 1947, at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Frank and Carolyn (Walling) Yanacheak. ξThe family lived in Iowa and moved to Arkansas for a short time where Tom's father was fatally injured in an accident. ξUpon returning home to Iowa, they lived at Anthon where Tom attended school, graduating from Anthon-Oto High School with the class of 1965.ξ On September 9, 1967, Tom married Lois Brady at Marcus, Iowa. ξAfter a short time, they settled in Holstein, Iowa to raise their family. ξTom worked at the meat packing plant in Cherokee for well over 20 years. ξTom enjoyed camping, fishing and other outdoors activities and was a skilled woodworker. Health issues caused him to retire. ξHe moved to Moville, Iowa in 1998 where he continued to reside until entering the care center 5 months ago. While in Moville, Tom enjoyed his time spent at the meal site.ξ Survivors include three children, Patrick Yanacheak and his wife, Katie, of Coralville, Iowa, Michael Yanacheak and his wife, Lori, of Adel, Iowa, and Kathleen Crites and her husband, Chris, of Waukomis, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Chloe, Nathan, Jacob, Rebecca, Luke, Kylie, Matthew, Meryn, and Collin; one sister, Mary Yanacheak of Anthon, Iowa; and one brother, Chuck Yanacheak of Springfield, Illinois; along with other extended family members. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Carolyn Yanacheak.
