Obituary for Luella Mae Brant
Luella Mae Christophersen Brant, 85, of Anthon, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab in Correctionville, Iowa. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13th at the Anthon United Methodist Church. A private family viewing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th. Public visitation will begin at 4:30 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa. The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. Luella Brant, daughter of Hans and Magdelena (Roennau) Christophersen was born on July 11, 1929 at Danbury, Iowa. Upon graduation from high school, she went to work at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. Luella's work career also consisted of many years at Swift Packing Plant, Gothier Mink Ranch, Correctionville Nursing Home, Senior Home Companion Services, and as an Avon Lady. She married Gail (Sparky) Brant in December of 1947. To this union two sons were born: Dan (Velma) Brant of Anthon, Iowa and Dennis Brant of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Luella is survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren: Jesse (Angela) Brant and children: Quinn, Henry, Owen and Samuel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Zachary Brant of Anthon, Iowa; Nicholas Brant and son, Oliver of Shiloh, Illinois; Jennie Brant (Scott Shever) and daughters Alison and Abigail of Correctionville, Iowa; Ryan (Rebecca) Brant and daughter, Lavender of Nashville, Tennessee and Adrienne (Aaron) Ruther of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Luella was preceded in death by her brothers and wives, Johnny (Edith) Christophersen and Marvin (Darlene) Christophersen.
