The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. Donald Peter Moser was born on a farm near Bloomfield, Nebraska, the son of Carl and Rose (Petsche) Moser. In 1941, Carl Moser had the opportunity to establish Moser Implement, a John Deere implement business, thus Don, at the age of 13, moved with the family to Danbury, Iowa. Along with attending the Danbury Public School, Don worked in the family business from 1941 to 1948. It was there that he developed his love of going 'Green" and his skills in two cylinder tractor motor repair. Over the years, he became even more skilled at repairing the very detailed components of the magneto in tractor motors. This specialty was recognized not only in the local community but in many other states in the nation. During his years working at his father's implement dealership, Don walked across the street in Danbury to Weary Drug Store for a fountain cherry coke made by a young lady, Katie Rosauer. This young lady soon became his wife. Don was united in marriage to Katherine "Katie" Rosauer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury on January 19, 1948. They had eight children. The couple first lived in town and later moved onto the farm where he and Katie worked together farming and raising their family. Don also had a corn shelling business. He traveled the area and provided this service to area farmers for many years. Don was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury and the Knights of Columbus. He had a remarkable memory to dates and events and could recall these details with ease in any conversation. Above all, Don loved his wife and family and they loved him! Those survivors left to embrace their memories of Don are Katie, his wife of 67 years; five sons, Dwight Moser and his wife, Lois, of Mapleton, Iowa, David Moser of Des Moines, Iowa, Doug and Barb Moser and Dean and Barb Moser, all of Danbury, and Mark Moser and his wife, Terri, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Deb McDaniel and her husband, Mike, of Kansas City, Missouri and Donna and Paul Dose of Danbury; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Gene and Mary Moser of Danbury and Loren and Bev Moser of La Mesa, California; one sister, Ellen Weber of Danbury; and one sister-in-law, Betty Moser of Marcus, Iowa; along with many other extended family members; and good friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Donovan Carl Moser; three infant grandchildren, Thomas, Peter, and Michael Moser; one brother, Dennis Moser; three sisters and their husbands, Frances and Bob Brummer, Irene and Darrell Buschkamp, and Phyllis and Loren Brenner; and one brother-in-law, James Weber.
