Argene B. Meyer Correctionville, IA - Argene B. Meyer, 75, of Correctionville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following a two year hard fought battle with cancer. The funeral Service will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrong funeral.com. Argene Bertha Meyer was born November 30, 1939, at home near Castana, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Leona (Hansen) Wilson. She grew up in the area and graduated from Castana High School. On June 21, 1958, Argene was united in marriage to Larry Meyer in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple made their home at Hornick, Castana, and Holstein, Iowa before residing in their current hometown of Correctionville, Iowa Along with caring for her family and the family home, Argene worked along side of her husband in his custom farming career. She could help in almost any capacity in the fields and was a pro at driving the trucks. For over 20 years, she worked in the upholstery business at McCune's Upholstery in Correctionville. One great passion in her life was her love of horses. She always had several horses in her possession and found happiness in their beauty on the land. Argene will be deeply missed by her family, especially by her husband, Larry, as they always considered themselves inseparable. Those family members left behind to honor Argene are Larry, her husband of 56 years; two sons, Steve Meyer and his wife, Renate, of Correctionville and Mitchell Meyer; five grandchildren, Christopher Meyer, Jeremy Meyer and his wife, Allissa, Nathan Meyer and his wife, Lauren, and Michael Meyer, and Christina Senski and her husband, John; five great grandchildren, Reina, Blade, Chaeli, Tatijna, and Mercedes; one brother, Richard Wilson and his wife, Arlene, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two sisters.
