Obituary for Ronald A. Streck
Ronald A. Streck Battle Creek, Iowa - Ronald A. Streck of Battle Creek, Iowa and formerly of Ida Grove and Holstein, Iowa passed away on his 77th birthday, Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa. He was a resident of Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa with Pastor Richard Salcido and Pastor Randy Cormeny, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Grant Township, rural Ida Grove. Visitation will be Friday, October 17 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Cormeny officiating at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa. Ronald Arthur Streck was born October 14, 1937, on the family farm south of Ida Grove, the son of Walter and Helen (Ernst) Streck. He grew up and was educated at a nearby country school. He served his country in the Army National Guard being honorably discharged in 1978. He farmed with his dad south of Ida Grove and later drove truck out of Mapleton, Iowa. The family lived on the farm south of Ida Grove until 1973, before moving to Holstein. Ron worked at Lundell in Cherokee. He retired after working at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove Ron was an avid bowler, helping his team win many tournaments and trophies. He especially loved his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his four children, Terrie (Ernie) Barnwell of Orange, Texas, Shari (Robert) Honaker of Humble, Texas, Susan (Paul) Phillips of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kevin (Alison) Streck of Omaha, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Joan (Jerome) Baker; one niece; three nephews; and other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents. Walter and Helen Streck.
