Robert "Bob" W. Tweet Mapleton, IA - Robert "Bob" W. Tweet, 77, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014, in Mapleton, Iowa. There will be visitation Tuesday, October 14, after 4:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. led by Marie Whiteing at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Burial will be Wednesday, October 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City, Iowa with Rev. Scott Jensen, officiating. Military graveside honors will be provided by the 185th Air Refueling Wing. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the memorial being established by the family in Bob's honor. The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. Robert Wayne Tweet was born March 14, 1937, at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Earnest J. and Alice C. (Moline) Tweet. He grew up and received his education in Sioux City. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp March 18, 1958, and served his country proudly; being honorably discharged March 17, 1962. He later joined the 185th Air Guard at Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Bob's career was carpentry, primarily in the Sioux City area. He was a State of Iowa Carpenter 1 at the 185th. On November 23, 1987, Bob married Kathi Weber-Hall at Elk Point, South Dakota. Survivors include Kathi, his wife; three daughters, Tammy Guinee and her husband Michael of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dana Allyn and her husband Bob of Mapleton, Iowa, and Megan Tweet of Allen, Texas; one son, Bryan Tweet and his wife, Becky, of Miami, Oklahoma; five step children, Stephanie Weber of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kenneth Weber also of Omaha, Perry Weber and his wife, Deb, of Elk Horn, Nebraska, Melinda Ruperto and her husband, Charlie, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Craig Weber of Omaha; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Tweet of Tucson, Arizona; along with other extended family members. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Thomas Tweet, just three weeks ago; three sisters, June Langford, Joyce Tweet, and Janice Anderson; and six brothers, Gilbert, Wesley, Theodore, Mervel, Ernest, and Duane.
