Obituary for Dorothy Goodman
Dorothy Evelyn (Yockey) Goodman was born on December 31, 1918 to Emil and Evie (Dice) Yockey at their home place on the Yockey 80 acre farm north of Lucky Valley. Dorothy lived on a farm until she at- tended Morningside College. She taught school for forty years in both country and city schools. Dorothy was a life member of Thonna Chapter 423 Order of the Eastern Star, a D.K. Fidelis as well as Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Clarence and Laura Goodman of Baltimore, MD, and Wayne and Cindy Goodman of Council Bluffs, IA; four grandchildren and their spouses; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Paul; a granddaughter, Deidre Whitehill; 2 great granddaughters, Kelsey Breemes and a Madison Holt; 5 sisters and 6 brothers and their spouses; 2 nieces and 5 neph- ews.
