Obituary for Theodore "T.P." Fundermann
Theodore "T.P." Fundermannn, 83, of Anthon, Iowa died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in Correctionville, Iowa. Theodore Paulus Edward Fundermann was born December 6, 1929, on the family farm three miles south of Anthon, the son of Theodore John Diedrich and Emma (Benker) Fundermann. He went to country school at Miller #2 through the eighth grade and graduated from Anthon High School.ξ He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from May 15, 1951, until April 18, 1953, stationed in Alaska. He transferred to the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged March 18, 1957. T.P. was a proud and active member of the American Legion McNiff Post #389 of Anthon. Upon returning home from the service, he farmed with his dad. In January of 1956, T.P. married Susie Reynolds. They had three children, Cathy Sue, Tammy Elaine, and Ted John. He started his business, "Fundermann Electric" in 1967 at Anthon and was in business until he retired in 2005. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Anthon. T.P. loved farming, visiting with people, his family, and his dogs. He is remembered for his motto, "The main thing is - Don't get excited", a theory he lived by. In 2011, he moved to the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center where he made a lot of friends with the residents and staff. Survivors include his three children, Cathy Ackerman of North English, Iowa, Tammy Reimer of Anthon, Iowa, and Ted Fundermann of South Sioux City, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his siblings, Pauline Osborne of Buffalo, Missouri, Paul Fundermann of Anthon, Iowa, Frank Fundermann and his wife, Carol of Red Oak, Iowa, Edward "Jake" Fundermann of Anthon, Iowa, Judy Thompson and her husband, Duane of Williams, Minnesota, Eileen Bumsted and her husband, Gary of Anthon, Iowa, and Wayne Fundermann, also of Anthon; along with many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and his wife, John and Helen Fundermann; a sister in infancy; a brother-in-law, Charles Osborne, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Diane Fundermann; and a son-in-law, Eric Nelson.
