Kathryn (Kady) Petrositch was born on a farm near Danbury, Iowa January 18, 1903, to John and Mary (Sohm) Petrositch. She was the third of 10 children and attended country school. She later became a beautician and operated her own shop in Holstein, Iowa. In the late 1950's she moved to Eugene, Oregon where three of her sisters resided and found work there in the canneries. She returned to Iowa in 1968, and then made her residence in Danbury. She entered Willow Dale Wellness Village in 2000. Kathryn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury and of it's Rosary Society. She was honored as the parish's oldest member at the church's 100 year celebration in 2010. Kady was a very entertaining individual. One never knew what she would say or how she would say it. She was a great story teller. In her younger years, she loved dancing and taught it at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She also liked playing five hundred and was an avid reader. She retained her mental abilities until the end. Kady was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, George, and Albert; six sisters, Rose, Frances in infancy, Edith, Tillie, Pauline, and Rita; and several nieces and nephews. Left to remember and fondly smile about "Auntie's" uniqueness are more nieces and nephews down to the fourth generation.
