Mary Fitzpatrick, age 83, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Danbury, IA, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, IA. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. Committal will follow in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery of Danbury, Iowa. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, IA. The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online www.armstrongfuneral.com.

Mary Fitzpatrick, the daughter of Charles and Marie (White) Fitzpatrick, was born on June 8, 1935, in Sioux City, IA. She grew up on the family farm north of Danbury, IA and graduated from Danbury Catholic School with the class of 1954.
After high school, Mary continued her education at Duchesne College earning a degree in elementary education. After college, Mary taught in District 66 Public School in Omaha, NE for several years.
She enjoyed reading, politics, bridge club, talk radio, jazz, and spending time with her neighbors, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marie Fitzpatrick; brother Peter Fitzpatrick; and sister Ann Fitzpatrick.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister-in-law Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Danbury, IA; nieces Maurna (Joel) Johnson of West Des Moines, IA and Mollie (Tim) Murano of West Des Moines, IA; nephews P.C. (Deb) Fitzpatrick of Chicago, IL and Matt (Darlene) Fitzpatrick of Danbury, IA; 9 great nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
