Vince Boyle, age 95, of Danbury, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his winter home in Arizona. He was surrounded by his family in person and in spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, Iowa. Father William McCarthy will officiate. Committal services will follow in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery of Danbury, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, Iowa.

Vincent Thomas “Vince” Boyle, the son of Thomas and Bernice (Brenner) Boyle was born on February 26, 1929, in Danbury, Iowa. He passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on January 11, 2025, at 10:22 a.m. at his winter home in Arizona.
Vince grew up on the family farm in Danbury with his four brothers and two sisters. He graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in 1947. On October 25, 1949, Vince was united in marriage to Dorothy Wieling at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury by Dorothy’s brother, Father Ray Wieling. Their wedding was the first Irish/German wedding in the church, a union that lasted for nearly 75 years.
A man of great talent and skill, Vince worked in many different disciplines to support his growing family. Through barter, trade, and resourcefulness, Vince earned the means to purchase their farm north of Danbury on Dutch Hollow in 1963. This farm became his pride and joy, where he grew a variety of crops and raised dairy cows, cattle, hogs, and chickens. Vince was a respected farmer in his community, known for his hard work and generosity. His keen eye for bargains at auctions and farm sales earned him a reputation as a savvy deal maker.
Vince’s love for travel and adventure was boundless. He was always eager to learn and explore new places and experiences. Whether on a spontaneous road trip or an organized vacation, Vince was always the first to hop in the car, ready for the next journey. He never met a stranger. “And where are you from?” was the question always asked.
In 1994 Vince and Dorothy retired and moved to the home they built in Danbury. Shortly after, they found a second home in Apache Junction, Arizona, where Vince enjoyed golfing, poker, cribbage, and woodworking. Once referring to himself as a “wood butcher”, Vince honed his skills and became a revered craftsman. From coast to coast, his family, friends, and neighbors cherish the heirlooms he lovingly created over the years.
To his children, Vince was not only a father, but a friend, mentor, and partner-in-crime. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a generous, kind, and witty grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

(June) Boyle, and Mary Dupre (Orrin Johnson) all of Danbury, IA, Joan Gunnick of Grand Coulee, WA, Ann
Horstman of Battle Creek, IA, Pat Boyle (Joyce Kafton), and Larry (Shelly) Boyle both of Danbury, IA, Lynn
(Fred) Sohm of Sioux City, IA; and Ron (Kim) Boyle of St. Charles, IA; 33 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; brother Bill (Barb) Boyle of Klamath Falls, OR; sister-in-law Marlene Boyle of Danbury, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (December 2023); parents Thomas and Bernice Boyle; brothers Bob (Marilyn) Boyle, Jim Boyle, and Marty Boyle; sisters Marge (Roger) Nelson and Sheila (Lester) Theobald; daughter-in-law Lynn (Welte) Boyle; and granddaughter Mariah Sohm.
