Marilyn M. Albertson, age 67, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the Willow Dale Wellness Village of Battle Creek, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Marilyn Margaret Albertson was born on October 30, 1950, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Lindblad) Elliot. She was raised and educated in Omaha, NE. She was blessed with five children: Becky, Eric, Nicole, James, and Crystal.
Marilyn lived in the Omaha, NE and Sioux City, IA areas before eventually moving to Mapleton, IA to be closer to her children. She spent her life as a caregiver doing in home health care privately for individuals. She also helped at Valley Craft and Resale. Marilyn could be found socializing with her friends, playing cards, working on crafts or watching cooking shows. She was known for her green thumb when it came to growing house plants. Marilyn was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved cooking family meals or helping run her family members to their various activities.
Left to cherish her memory include her children Becky (Kerby) Weber of Mapleton, IA, Eric Birnstihl of Mapleton, IA, Nicole Sorenson of Omaha, NE, James (Nancy) Sorenson, III of Omaha, NE and Crystal Albertson of Georgia; 13 grandchildren; brother Roger (Judy) Elliot of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Elliot.
