Obituary for Patricia J. Garton
Patricia J. Garton, age 56, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home of Mapleton, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate; with Committal Services following in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. A visitation will be held on hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa. The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home Mapleton, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online www.armstrongfuneral.com.
Patricia J. Garton, the daughter of Donald and JoAnne (Flanigan) Seufert was born on January 3, 1962, in Sioux City, IA. She grew up in Ute, IA and attended Charter Oak-Ute Public School.
She married Greg Garton and the couple were blessed with two children Kyle and Sara. Patricia and Greg later parted ways.
A 30 year employee of Wilson Trailer, Patricia also worked in the past for Pepsi Co. and KSCJ Radio. Patricia will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and niece. She loved putting jigsaw puzzles together and her family.
She is survived by her son Kyle Garton of Highlands Ranch, CO and daughter Sara Garton of Ankeny, IA; parents Don and JoAnne Seufert of Ute, IA; brothers Joe (Jodi) Seufert of Carroll, IA and Jim (Jessica) Seufert of Morrison, CO; sisters Colleen (Bob) Henderson of Ute, IA and Sheila (Lance) Odom of Eagle, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial can be directed to the family to use towards a donation to Burgess Hospice Care.
