Obituary for Richard Lee Olson
Richard Lee Olson, age 70, of Ute, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital of Denison, Iowa.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021, in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. Rev. Nathan Peitsch will officiate.

Richard Lee Olson, was born on December 11, 1950, in Denison, Iowa, to Delbert and Marcella (Reincke) Olson. Rich grew up on the family farm outside of Charter Oak, Iowa.
In February of 1969, Rich enlisted into the United States Navy. He served his country overseas during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in May of 1972. After his service he returned home and started working as a brick layer in Texas.
After various jobs, Rich returned to Iowa and started his career as an over the road truck driver. He was currently employed with Gierstorf Trucking Company at the time of his passing.
Rich enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, reading, and trucking. Being called father and grandpa were the light of Rich’s life. He treasured every moment spent with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Brittany (fiancé Matt Kempers) of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Konstance, Ariel, and Jasmine; father Delbert Olson of Mapleton, IA; brother Jim L. Olson of Ute, IA; sister Lorrie K. (Kent) Moffitt of Ute, IA; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rich was preceded in death by his mother Marcella “Sally” Olson and brother Randall Olson.
