Mary R. Scott, age 85, of Papillion, NE passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the St. Joseph Villa of Omaha, Nebraska.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Jena Manchester will officiate. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the St. John’s United Methodist Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Mary R (Bales) Scott, 85 of Papillion, Nebraska, formally of Sioux City, Iowa passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 with family by her side following a long battle with COPD. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place.
She loved her family unconditionally, read her bible faithfully and knew that she had Jesus as her savior.
Mary will be loved and remembered by her 7 children Char (Mike) Green of Mesa, AZ, Virg (Diane) Hanson of Belle Plaine. MN, Steve (Teresa) Hanson of Bronson, IA, Roger (Dar) Kelley of Sioux City, IA, Penny (Larry) Hinton of Omaha, NE, Randy (Cathy) Scott of Fairbury, NE, and Shelly (Justin) Barnhart of Parkston, SD, one brother Charles (Elsie) Bales of Sgt. Bluff, IA, 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren Keely and Connor.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Bertha Bales, 4 brothers Virgil (MIA/WWII), Pat, Mike and Jim Bales, one daughter Vicky (Reeves) Scott, 2 infant granddaughters Ashley and Megan Kelley, and one infant great granddaughter Ashley Johnson.
