Larry E. Button, age 78, of Rodney, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Pleasant View Care Center of Whiting, Iowa.
His Interment will held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2016, at the Little Sioux Township Cemetery of Smithland, Iowa. The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.armstrongfuneral.com
Larry E. Button was born on August 19, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa to Clifford B. and Amy Irene (Dunbar) Button. Growing up on a farm in the Rodney area, Larry attended rural country school thru the 8th grade.
After school Larry worked as a hired hand and then as the foreman on the Bennett ranch. In his later years he would drive the crops in his semi to the local elevator.
Larry enjoyed hunting and cat fishing making his own bait. Along with reading many country western novels.
Left to cherish his memory are his nieces, Cheryl Lower of San Diego California, June Shull of Prairie City Oregon, Patricia Shull of Prairie City Oregon, and Kristine Shull of Prescott Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Elsie Shull and Harriett Drag.
