Wilma Jean Moore, age 66, of Smithland, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020, at her residence of Smithland, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020, with a Visiation held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Smithland, Iowa. Pastor Karen Handke will officiate. Committal will follow in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery of Smithland, Iowa. Wilma Jean Moore, the daughter of Nellie Ruth Grubbs, was born on March 17, 1953, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. During her youth Wilma grew up in the Kentucky and Indiana area. She graduated from Elston High School with college level scores. She relocated to Florida where she was employed with Vintage Industries for many years making gun grips.
Wilma and her husband Randy Moore moved back to the area and called Smithland, Iowa, home to be closer to family. You might remember Wilma from the Country Store in Smithland where she worked for 8 years. With her heart of gold, Wilma would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved Harley’s, her dog and spending time with her family.
Wilma is survived by her children, Edward (Carrie Davenport) Howard, Jr., Dawn (Kevin Ronfeldt) Peterson, and special family member, Meghan Howard; grandchildren: Michael, Danielle, Caleb, Dalton, Tim, Brandon, Sissy, Ashton, Skylar, Bri’anna, Ari’anna, and JT; and her faithful dog, Gretchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Moore (2012) and son, Timothy Howard (2005); and mother, Nellie Grubbs.
