Warren C. Nepper, age 85, of Ute, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital of Denison, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Karen Handke will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Warren Charles Nepper, the son of Warren O. and Helene (Zeims) Nepper, was born November 17, 1933, in Monona County, IA. He was raised on the family farm near Ute, IA with his six siblings. Warren received his education at Mapleton High School.
Warren was united in marriage to Evon Chandler in December of 1951 and they made their home outside of Mapleton, IA. They were blessed with three children: Linda, Michael and Donna. The couple would later part ways. On June 22, 1962, Warren married Shirley Wenck. He welcomed her daughter Lori to his family. Together Warren and Shirley had two children: Steve and Patti. The family settled outside of Ute. Shirley passed away in 2001. Warren married Cindy Gosch on May 24, 2002 and the couple resided on the farm in Ute.
Warren was engaged in farming and trucking throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed tending to his livestock and crops. He especially enjoyed raising and maintaining his apple orchard.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife Cindy Nepper of Ute, IA; children Donna (Ray) Jacobs of Mexico, MO, Lori (John) Head of Ghent, MN, Steve (Tara) Nepper of Roanoke, VA and Patti Miller of Schleswig, IA; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers Dean Nepper of Ute, IA, Allen (Linda) Nepper of Charter Oak, IA and Curtiss (Jean) Nepper of Ute, IA; sisters Sharon Barngrover of Laverne, MN and Coreene (Henry) Kunze of Oregon; mother-in-law Shirley Gosch of Ute, IA; daughter-in-law Linda Nepper of Oto, IA; son-in-law David Gosch of Charter Oak, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Helene Nepper; wife Shirley Nepper; son Michael Nepper; daughter Linda Gosch; infant grandson Quintin Nepper; sister Anneta (Elgin) Lovell; father-in-law Norman Gosch; sister-in-law Mary Lee Nepper; brother-in-law Ronald Barngrover.
