Obituary for Walter "Wally" P. LeFebvre
Walter “Wally” P. LeFebvre, age 71, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at his residence of Mapleton, Iowa.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Loren Hollister Post #496 of the American Legion all of Mapleton, Iowa. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests masks be worn and social distancing rules apply. The Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online www.armstrongfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 703 Heisler Street, Mapleton, IA 51034.


Walter Paul “Wally” LeFebvre was born on May 18, 1949, in Mapleton, Iowa and spent his entire lifetime there. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Wally worked for the Iowa Liquor Department for 15 years, then established Main Street Spirits.

He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton. A fun-loving, kind and generous man, Wally will be missed by all who knew him. His nieces and nephews were a special part of his life.

Wally is survived by his sister Suellen (Richard) Thompson of Dripping Springs, TX; his brothers Thomas (Susan) LeFebvre of Mapleton, IA, Eddie (Lois) LeFebvre of Omaha, NE, Andy (Tina) LeFebvre of Oceanside, CA, Rich (Amy) LeFebvre of Glendale, AZ and Mark (Dawn) LeFebvre of Mapleton, IA; sister-in-law Connie LeFebvre of Prescott, AZ; 14 nephews and nieces; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents E.J. and Germaine LeFebvre; and his brother Michael LeFebvre.
