Obituary for Walter P. "Bud" Rosauer
Walter P. "Bud" Rosauer Ida Grove, Iowa - Walter P. "Bud" Rosauer, 80, of Ida Grove, Iowa passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa with Rev. Dan Greving officiating. Burial will be in Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a Vigil Wake service at 4:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Visitation will resume Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. The family requests casual dress for family and friends attending the services for Bud. They are receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. Walter Peter "Bud" Rosauer was born December 5, 1934, at Danbury, Iowa, the son of Albert and Bessie (Iddings) Rosauer. He was educated in the Danbury area and attended the Danbury Public High School. He entered the United States Army and upon his honorabe discharge, he returned home to farm in rural Danbury. Bud continued to farm until retirement. On June 11, 1957, Bud was united in marriage to Lola Mae Cloud at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon. They had four children, Cindy, Sandy, Bart, and Gwen. Lola passed away April 9, 2001. Bud was then reunited with Betty Brummer, a long time friend of the family. They settled in the town of Ida Grove in 2013. Bud liked playing baseball in his youth. In later years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and decades of league bowling. He bowled just a week before his death. He loved his large vegetable garden and caring for his fruit orchard. Above all, however, he appreciated the company of his family. Those survivors left to honor their memories of Bud include three of his children, Cindy Huss who is married to John Carr, of Smithland, Iowa, James "Bart" Rosauer and his wife, Mary Tomelleri of Olathe, Kansas, and Gwen Dean and her husband, Terry, of Platte, South Dakota; seven grandchildren: 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Genevieve Hughes of Scio, Oregon, Mary Moser and her husband, Gene, and Katie Moser and her husband, Don, all of Danbury and Barbara Peters and her husband, Mike; two sisters-in-law, Stella Rosauer of Anthon, Iowa and Verna Rosauer of Battle Creek, Iowa; his significant other, Betty Brummer of Ida Grove, Iowa; along with many other extended family members; and good friends. Along with his wife, Lola, Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra; his parents; two brothers, Carl and Norbert Rosauer; and a brother-in-law, Mick Hughes.
