Vincent Robert Niemann
New York City, N. Y. Vincent Robert Niemann, son of William Robert & Mary M. (Dorothy) Niemann passed from this life 08 Jan 2016 in New York Presbyterian Columbia Hospital in New York City. Vince was born in Arlington, Virginia, 06 Aug 1950.
He was the grandson of James Porter & Grace M. (Winter) Dorothy of Ute, Iowa. During the Korean War his mother, and sister Cindy lived with his grandmother in Ute. Also Vince and Cindy visited summers and enjoyed the neighborhood and have fond memories of Ute as a second hometown. Later, he enjoyed visiting his mother who moved back to Ute in 2004. The contrast between the enclosed high rises of New York City and the beautiful rolling hills and open blue skies of Iowa was so breathtaking to him. He would comment that this was Gods country and that the people were so wholesome and good. He always looked forward to returning to where his pioneer ancestors Edward Perry Dorothy and Peter Henry Booher first started farming in 1873.
Vince grew up in Clarksville, Maryland. He was in the boy scouts and earned his eagle scout award. Vince graduated from Atholton H.S. in Columbia, Md. and went to Frostburg State College in Frostburg, Maryland, where he got his B. A. degree in Theatrical Arts and a Masters in Drama at U W Va. He was married to Barbara Christine Schoenemann for a few years. They had no children. Studying the Civil War was a hobby of his. He painted lead soldiers and would set them up in various battle formations. He also was a part of numerous re-inactments and played the bugle at them. He moved to New York City and lived on Broadway. He toured Europe as a Shakespearean actor and later did musical productions at dinner theaters. He was always the life of the party with his wit, improvisations and charm. He had a deep rich speaking and singing voice and trained students to sing. He was a member of the Actors Guild. Vince was a cultured man, interested in architecture and art. He also had as a hobby gold gilding .
He was preceded in death by his parents and baby sister Janet Aileen Niemann who is buried in Clarksville, Md.
He leaves to mourn his sisters Cynthia Mary (Niemann) Leister & Michael of Findlay, Ohio, Nancy Ann Niemann-Miller of Palm Bay, Florida, Lucy Margaret (Niemann) Zietler & Michael of Springfield, Illinois and his brother Daniel Andrew Niemann of Springfield, West Virginia. Also his niece Lauretta Marie Leister and Braylon Crossman her son of Findlay, Ohio, Michael Eric & Sonja (Biddle) Leister and their children Britain Michael, Michael Easton and Alexandria Love Leister of Oregon, Ohio, and Jonathan William Leister of Houston, Texas. Also, Nathaniel Josiah Yisrael Miller of Korea, Joel David Miller of Palm Bay, Florida and adopted sons Jacob, Jimmy and Aaron of Palm Bay, Florida. David Andrew & Cynthia (Blanchard) Niemann and their son Elizah Robert Niemann of Palm Bay. David Niemanns first wife Nicole (Ecklar) Niemann and their children William David, Dominique Rose and Victoria Faith Niemann . And Justin Nathaniel Tackett of Ashland, Kentucky & Joshua Michael & Jillian Eva (Watson) Tackett and their son Kaden Alexander of Springfield, Illinois.
Vincent will be buried in St. Clair Cemetery in the St. Marys Catholic section in the family plot. He was very devoted to the practice of his Catholic Orthodox faith. Private services will be held.
Armstrong Funeral Home of Ute has been entrusted with the arrangements.
