Obituary for Vicki Jo Hinrickson
Vicki Jo Hinrickson Mapleton, IA - Vicki Jo Hinrickson, 67, of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Mapleton, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at an Omaha hospital following a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be Friday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa with Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery at Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday after 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. Vicki Jo Hinrickson was born January 19, 1947, at home in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of George and Darlyne (Howland) Hinrickson. She grew up in Mapleton and graduated from Maple Valley High School with the class of 1965. She moved to Wisconsin and worked at Marquette University. She later moved to Sioux City, Iowa where along with being employed, she graduated from Briar Cliff College in 1984 with a degree in accounting. Upon moving to Allen, Nebraska, she worked in her chosen career at Coop. Returning to Sioux City in 1991, Vicki worked primarily at MCI. Later she moved to Omaha and worked at First Data Resources until her retirement. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Noelle and Dave Kunkel of Omaha and Heather and Brian Thornton of Denham Springs, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Samantha Hinrickson, Makenzie Servis, and Ian Johnson; one great granddaughter, Ryleigh Barbay; three brothers, Roger Hinrickson and his wife, Chana of Smithland, Iowa, Duane Hinrickson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Alan Hinrickson and his wife, Nita of Pocahontas, Iowa; many other extended family members; and a long time cherished friend, Nan Bookhart of Sioux City; along with many other close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
