Timothy K. “Tim” Sanderson, Sr., age 66, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his residence of Mapleton, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa.

Timothy Kevin “Tim” Sanderson, Sr., the son of Mace and Mildred (Menafee) Sanderson, was born on March 2, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in the Anthon and Mapleton, Iowa, areas and received his education from Maple Valley High School graduating with the class of 1977.
After graduation, Tim entered the workforce where he was employed at Goslin Grocery and B&F Lumber. In 2013 he began working for Hamann Construction where he was still employed at the time of his passing.
Tim married Linda Lawson and the couple was blessed with two children, Christina and TJ. From this union he gained a special mother-in-law, Deanna Lawson. The couple would later part ways. On February 14, 2000, Tim married Patricia R. “Patty” Kreymborg in Ida Grove, Iowa. They were able to enjoy 25 wonderful years together with their blended family before Tim passed away after a 2.5-year battle with lung cancer.
A carpenter by trade, Tim loved woodworking. If he wasn’t building a new house or remodeling a home, he was in his shop building something or working on his honey-do list. Tim was an avid bowler for many years and had two 300 games he earned bragging rights to! Tim enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren, watching and a lot of times chauffeuring them to all of their activities.
Known by others for being a kind, friendly, and helpful person, Tim truly loved being able to help out when he could. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Patricia R. Sanderson; daughter Christina (Mike) Anderson; son Timothy “TJ” (Jennifer) Sanderson, Jr.; stepson Jason (Stephanie) Divis; stepdaughter Brittney Divis (Jared Neddermeyer); 12 grandchildren: Dylan (Faith) DeMoss, Braden Anderson, Isabelle Anderson, Wyatt Sanderson, Logan Divis, Cordelia Divis, Terrance Gray, Jersey Divis (Ethan Kuhlmann), Christopher Miles Gray, Braeley Gray, Nash Neddermeyer, and Nyxn Neddermeyer; 1 great-grandchild, Jaxon DeMoss; brothers Philip (Joyce) Sanderson, Ron (Audrey) Sanderson, and Randy (Susan) Sanderson; sisters Patricia “Pat” Sanderson and Mary (Roger) Luth; brother-in-law Charles Bolles; sisters-in-law Wendy Bruning, Kathy Milner, Diana Schauer, Mary (Doug) Schumann, and Toni Kreymborg; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents Mace and Mildred Sanderson; in-laws Charles and Donna Kreymborg; infant twin brothers Robert and Richard Sanderson; brothers Gail, Michael, and Jerry Sanderson; sister JoLynn Bolles; stepson Christopher Divis; brother-in-law Michael Kreymborg; nephews Joseph Milner and Anthony Schumann; niece Marj Sanderson; and sister-in-law Susan Sanderson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful people at St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care and support; especially to Mali and Kaci whom Tim created a special bond with.
