Obituary for Susan M. Kluver
Susan Marie "Susie" Kluver was born on March 13, 1958, to Leo and Bernice (Riesberg) Schroeder in Fort Dodge. The family moved to the Oto area, and Susie attended school at Anthon-Oto High School, graduating with the class of '77. She married Clayton Kluver on June 24, 1977. They later divorced but remained friends. Susie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oto. She worked at the Whiting Nursing Home and also cared for her mother. She absolutely loved holding babies, designating herself as the official baby holder in the family when her nieces and nephews were infants. Susie enjoyed working with her hands. She was talented with the crochet hooks, creating treasures for her family. She also loved to bake. Family members left to treasure their memories of Susie include her mother, Bernice Schroeder of Oto; three brothers, Loren and Pam Schroeder of Sergeant Bluff, Lyle Schroeder of Smithland, and Pat Schroeder and Deb Schultzen of Moville; three sisters, Pearl and Charlie Kilzer of Sioux City, Joyce and Randy Traver of Climbing Hill, and Carol Rogers of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister-in-law, Lori Schroeder of Anthon; her ex-husband, Clayton Kluver; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many good friends. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Leo Schroeder; her son, Matthew Kluver; her brother, Lee Schroeder; and her sister-in-law, Carol Schroeder.
