Roseann B. Mordhorst, age 66, of Ute, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her residence of Ute, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Graveside Services will follow in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa.

Roseann B. Mordhorst the daughter of Harold C. W. and Fredrika E. (Egle) Salzwedel, was welcomed into the world on December 22, 1958, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Her father passed away at a young age and at the tender age of 14, Roseann found herself alone after the loss of mother.
She relocated to Gwen, Michigan to live with one of her three brothers. Life wasn’t always easy for Roseann but she persevered, worked hard and obtained her GED. Through a mutual friend, Roseann took interest in employment with a traveling carnival. She then started her career working for various carnivals over the years, living in Florida, Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, just to name a few. Roseann’s proudest moment in life was becoming a mother to her beloved son Nathan.
Later in life Roseann retired from the carnival and relocated to Ute, Iowa, to be closer to friends. On October 26, 2006, Roseann married Jerome “Pee Wee” Mordhorst in the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ute, and the couple made their home in Ute. Roseann became employed with Walmart working in the Denison, Iowa store for over ten years before fully retiring.
Roseann enjoyed fishing, watching T.V., and cruising through Facebook. She loved her four-legged fur babies dogs Mr. Fred and Sophie and cat George. Roseann liked traveling, especially to Louisiana to visit her son Nathan and wife Gaynell along with her grandchildren and reconnecting with friends.
Survivors include her son Nathan (Gaynell) Salzwedel; brother Richard and his family; sister Beverly and her family; extended family and friends.
Roseann is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Fredrika Salzwedel; brother Harold and Phillip; and husband Jerome “Pee Wee” Mordhorst.
