Ron was born on a farm near Anthon on December 3, 1936. He attended rural school through 8th grade and graduated from Anthon High School with the class of 1954 where he excelled in baseball and music activities and was Homecoming king.
In 1956 he was married to his high school sweetheart, Jerane Rossow, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Midway. They were blessed with 60 years of married life and a loved and loving family.
He was a steward of the soil and received several awards for conservation practices. He loved living on the farm but considered Anthon his hometown and made regular trips to town for coffee, conversation and cribbage games.  He was a member of the Community Center board, serving as president for many years. He was a 4-H member and leader, a booster of the Anthon Golf Course, and a Wolf Creek township trustee.
He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served in most offices and committees and served as the sponsor of a youth group.
His family was his pride and joy and he loved being a part of their school activities.  He and Jerane enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing. After retirement, he also began his hobby of collecting antique tractors, especially researching and hunting for unusual ones, exhibiting them at the Woodbury county fair, going on tractor rides and involving his friends.
He is survived by his soulmate of 65 years; his daughter Linda and son-in-law Gary Rosacker;  son, Greg and daughter-in-law Beth Hayworth, daughter Stacy and son-in-law Craig Groff; three grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer (Hayworth) and Mark Landry, Joel and Lisa Hayworth, and Christopher and Dana Rosacker; four great-grandsons: Cayden and Conor Landry, Ryan Hayworth, and Warren Rosacker. He is also survived by brothers Dale (Virginia) and Glen (Judy)  and sister Norma (Merle) Oakes, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Doneta Jacobsen and Sandra Hayworth, and many good and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jeffrey Rosacker; his parents, his wife’s parents, Ernst and Henriette Rossow, brothers Stanley, Dean, Leslie, and Frank; sisters Betty Thompson and Bernice Schmidt; brothers-in- law Jerry Thompson and Laverne Schmidt, and sister-in law, Kay Su Hayworth.
The family suggests memorials to Lutheran World Relief, organ donation/transplantation organizations;  or any veterans’ support groups.
