Obituary for Rick Palmer
Rick Palmer, age 61, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at his residence in Mapleton, Iowa.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery of Mapleton, Iowa.

Richard “Rick” Palmer was born to Elmer and Mary (Rose) Palmer on January 24, 1961, in Denison, Iowa. He grew up in Mapleton, Iowa and attended Maple Valley Community School.
After he finished his schooling Rick worked at Crop Mate and Mary’s Hammer House in Mapleton. He later worked for many local farmers, IBP in Dakota City, Nebraska and in the scrapyard for Walt Morgan. For the last 25 years Rick worked as a driver for CHN Garbage.
Rick loved to spend time junkin, listening to music, hanging out with his cat, “Stinky”, and spending time with his favorite granddaughter, Ryli.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Mary (Rose) Palmer of Mapleton, IA; son Branden (Shelby) Palmer of Mapleton, IA; granddaughter Ryli (fiancé Zed Zevenbergen) of Vermillion, SD; nieces Kimberly (Jessie) Vogt of Sioux City, IA and Jennifer (Brett Werner) Palmer of Sergeant Bluff, IA; 4 great-nieces, 4 great-nephews, numerous cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Palmer and brother Jim Palmer.
