Richard “Rick” Jacoby, 61, of Mapleton, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 16, at his residence of Mapleton, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Jena Manchester will officiate; Committal Services will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Mapleton, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Homes of Mapleton, Iowa. Richard “Rick” Jacoby the son of Benedict and Betty (Burkhart) Jacoby was born on December 14, 1955, in Denison, Iowa. Rick grew up in the Danbury and Mapleton, IA area and attended school at Maple Valley.
On February 27, 1976, Rick married Dawn Petersen in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury, IA. The couple were blessed with two beautiful daughters Jana and Jodi. Years later the couple parted ways.
He worked many years for Felco Farmers Coop then with Hamman Construction, until his health started to decline. Rick loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, and play cards. He took pride in his truck and made sure that it was clean, shiny and spotless.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronald Jacoby. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Jana (fiancé Dane Carr) Bubke of Hornick, IA and Jodi (Jerrod Johannsen) Mathison of Schleswig, IA; grandchildren Kaylee Bubke, Kenedee Bubke, Austin Petersen, Reese Petersen, Colton, Brayton and Taryn Johannsen; brother Randy (Kimberly Nelson) Jacoby of Mapleton, IA; sister Kay (Ron) Uhl of Mapleton, IA; nephews Ryan Uhl, Jake Jacoby, Josh Jacoby, Scott Jacoby, and Eric Jacoby; extended family and friends.
