Obituary for Patrick L. Shattuck
Patrick Lynne Shattuck, age 51, of Smithland, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his residence of Smithland, Iowa.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Father Richard D. Ball will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery of Smithland, Iowa. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Patrick Lynne Shattuck was born January 1, 1968, in Onawa, Iowa to John and Jean (Worrell) Shattuck. He attended Westwood Community School in Sloan, Iowa.
Pat was an ironworker with the Ironworkers Local 21 for over 20 years where he became a Journeyman. He loved his work and was very proud of the structures he helped to build during his career.
Pat loved his camping adventures with his two children Logan and Hannah, tinkering in the garage, driving fast and his music loud. He was always ready to crack a joke and laugh.
Left to treasure his memory are his two children, Logan Shattuck (fiancée Breanna Krajnik) of Lincoln, NE and Hannah Shattuck of Lincoln, NE; his parents, John and Jean Shattuck of Smithland, IA; three brothers, Allan (Sandy) Shattuck of Marshfield, MO, Mike (Debbie) Shattuck of Ozark, MO and Dan (Shawn) Shattuck of Alpena, AK; one sister, Sarah (Tony) Bos of Jackson, NE; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Shattuck; both paternal and maternal grandparents.
