Obituary Mary L. Kluver Mapleton, IA - Mary L. Kluver, 78, of Mapleton, Iowa the loving wife of Vertus "Pete" Kluver, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Per Mary's wishes, there will be private services. Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton is in charge of the arrangements. Mary Lee Kluver was born January 21, 1934, at St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of Cornelius Buell E. and Allie May (Black) Knight. She moved to Alameda, California and later to southern California. Mary was united in marriage to Vertus "Pete" Kluver in 1973 at Las Vegas, Nevada and resided in Cucamonga, California. The couple moved to Mapleton, Iowa five years ago. She is survived by her husband, Vertus "Pete" Kluver; three sons, Robert (Suzie) Scott of Orlando, Florida, Neil (Patty) Scott of Nampa, Idaho, and Virgil Scott of Gardnerville, Nevada; one daughter, Donna Keaton of Powder Springs, Georgia; three step sons, Geoffrey (Sandy) Willey of Las Vegas, Nevada, Chuck (Mary Ann) Willey of Yuba City, California, and John (Judy) Kluver, Sr. of Apple Valley, California; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Knight of Ogden, Utah and J.W. Knight of Summerfield, Florida; and one sister. Louise Buqette of Fort Meyers, Florida. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Fred and Charlie Knight.
