At the age of 16 they moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Marlyn later became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States in 1970's, which she was very proud of. In 1953, she married Gerald "Jerry" Anderson of Sioux City and they were blessed with six children. She liked to crochet, do crosswords, loved her cats, collecting angels, and had a love for music which included singing and playing her accordion and guitar. Most of all, however, she enjoyed caring for her children and family. Marlyn married George (Cheyenne) Thompson in 1984. He passed away in 1988. Survivors include her children, Chuck Anderson of Waterloo, Iowa, Tim (Teri) Anderson of Florida, Jim (Tina) Anderson of Whiting, Iowa, Teresa Bartels (Jim Flor) of Mapleton, Iowa and Brian Anderson of LeMars, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lisa (Shawn) McBride and three children, of Waterloo, Iowa, Laura (Josh) Mulnix and two children of Dyersville, Iowa, David Anderson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Stephanie Anderson, and Christopher Anderson; and step daughter, Margie (Bert) Dimig of Charter Oak, Iowa and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George (Cheyenne) Thompson; brother Eldon; and son, Anthony in infancy.ξ
