Larry L. Wink was born February 14, 1947, in Sioux City, IA, to Luvern and Bonnie Jean (Stephenson) Wink. The Wink family was completed with the addition of Roger in 1949 and their lives were spent together on the family farms. During his 15-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Larry was blessed with family and friends by his side; passing away at 76 years of age on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Larry graduated with the Anthon-Oto High School Class of 1965 and went on to graduate from The Universal Trade School in Omaha, NE, in 1966 with a degree in mechanics. He lived his entire life on the family farms, purchasing his first farm in 1972. On August 30, 1975, he married Karen Jeffrey at the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, IA, thus beginning the next 48 years of his life.

The couple welcomed the birth of Bill and Jack (not sons, but two lovely daughters Billie Jean and Jaclynn). Very proud events were the marriages of his daughters to Lincoln Umbach and Kevin Clausen. Further enriching his life were the births of his three "Burrheads” (Keegan, Brylei “Dolly” and Bo) and accepting the name of "Grumpa Bo". In 2011 he suffered a forever broken heart upon the loss of daughter Billie, which fostered a forever special bond with 6-year-old Keegan.

His zest for life was obvious through working his land, managing a cow/calf operation, and a custom haying business he was proud of. While doing all this he also completed classes to become a Certified Ford Mechanic where he enjoyed years of friendship working at Arnburg Motor Company in Correctionville, IA.

Larry loved people and was known for his one-liners. Favorite hours of the day were coffee hour and happy hour. He loved mancave nights showing off his culinary skills to all, the more the merrier. He was a one-of-a-kind Grandpa Chauffeur and lived for the next ballgame to cheer on the grandkids and teams.

He was a proud supporter of the Wild Angels Relay For Life team and served with good friends on the Woodbury County Board of Trustees. Larry enjoyed hunting on his land and bonding with his hunting buddies. His dislikes were few but most definitely included red Ford trucks because it's an old man's color (although his machinery and cattle must be red). He disliked cedar trees, bonfires, cancer, and his family having to write this obituary.

Larry's immediate surviving family members include his wife Karen Wink of Anthon, IA; son-in-law Lincoln Umbach and grandson Keegan Umbach of Anthon, IA; daughter Jaclynn (Kevin) Clausen, granddaughter Brylei Clausen and grandson Bo Clausen of Anthon, IA; brother Roger Wink of Martinsville, MO; and mother-in-law Eileen Jeffrey of Correctionville, IA.

He will be reunited with daughter Billie Jean Umbach; parents Luvern and Bonnie Wink; father-in-law Ernest Jeffrey.

The deceased and surviving extended family members not mentioned are loved by Larry and etched in his heavenly heart forever.
