
Obituary for Kathy Trucke
Kathy Trucke, age 68, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the Armstrong Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Christopher LaBoube will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the Celebration of Life Service from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are encouraged and social distancing rules apply during all services.

Katherine “Kathy” J. Trucke, was born on December 1, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. The daughter of Donald L. and Geraldine (Thomas) Williams, she grew up in Sioux City where she received her education in the Sioux City School District.
Kathy was blessed with three children: Brent, Garrett, and Ryan. She raised her children on a farm outside of Rodney, Iowa, before relocating to Mapleton, Iowa. She was employed with Maple Heights Nursing Home of Mapleton until retiring in 2020.
A faithful member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Kathy donated her time and enjoyed attending Bible study. She was an amazing cook, avid Bronco’s fan, loved to garden, having coffee and spending time with her friends. Kathy will fondly be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and faithful servant to her Lord.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brent (Shannon) Trucke of Sioux City, Iowa, Garrett (Amy) Trucke of Soldier, Iowa, and Ryan (Austin) Thames of Canton, South Dakota. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Rachel (Shawn) Nelson, Katelyn and Emily Trucke, Wyatt, Austin, Sidney and Levi Trucke, Veronica and Brexleigh Thames. Other survivors include her step father Gene Saunders; and her siblings.
She was preceded in death by her mother Geraldine Saunders and father and step-mother Don and Marilyn Williams.
