
Obituary for Jane E. Meyer
Jane E. Meyer Paullina, Iowa - Jane E. Meyer, 84, of Paulina, Iowa passed away of natural causes Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at her home near Paullina, Iowa in German Town. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa. Pastor Jena Manchester will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant Township Cemetery near Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Jane Elizabeth Meyer was born August 18, 1929, at Mapleton, Iowa, one of 13 children born to John and Augusta (Dadt) Hinrickson. She grew up and was educated in the Mapleton area. In 1944, she married Wallace Kelsheimer at Sioux City, Iowa. They had two daughters, Janet and Janie. The family first lived at Mapleton and later moved south of Anthon. Iowa. Wallace passed away in 1967. Jane continued to live in the Anthon area and married Emil Meyer. She later lived in the Correctionville and Quimby areas and last moved to German Town near Paullina, Iowa where she lived contently until her death July 22, 2014. Jane's passion was breeding, raising and selling Boston Terriers. She also loved the flowers and the garden she grew. She was a fan of the old time country western music and reading western books. She was known to be strong willed about the decisions in her life, a trait that kept her independent for the most part. Survivors include three grandchildren, Janice Rhoades and her husband, Gary of Ivanhoe, Virginia, Emil Boock of Quimby, Iowa, and a grandson Jane raised from age two, Gary Jannsen and Ann of Royal, Iowa ; eight great grandchildren, Jonathan DeYoung, Eric Durband, Joelle DeYoung, Justin Jannsen, Nathan Boock, Alex Jannsen, Caley Boock, and Travis Boock; four great great grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Richard Hinrickson and his wife, Anna of Rodney, Iowa and Albert Hinrickson and his wife, LaVonne of Ida Grove, Iowa; two ladies who were like family to Jane, Fritz Stull of Paullina, Iowa and Rita Herbold of Pierson, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two daughters, Janie Jannsen and Janet Boock; and 10 brothers and sisters, Leslie, Doris, John, Clyde, Louie, Gertie, Charlie, David, William and George.
