AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 36, -JAMES RICHMOND MOHR LEFT THIS EARTH, LEAVING BEHIND WARM MEMORIES THAT WILL BE CHERISHED BY ALL THE PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES HE TOUCHED. BORN MAY, 16, 1976 IN FORT ORD, CALIFORNIA, -JAMES SPENT THE MA-.JORITY OF HIS CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENT YEARS IN MAPLETON, IOWA, NEAR THE HOMETOWN OF HIS MOTHER, NORMA, AND ADOPTED FATHER LESTER MOHR. THE OLDEST OF THREE BOYS, -JAMES WAS KNOWN IN THE FAMILY FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE AND HONEST, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAME TO LOOKING AFTER HIS YOUNGER BROTHERS RUSSELL AND LANCE. WHEN HIS YOUNGER BROTHERS GOT INTO MISCHIEF, -JAMES WAS NOTORIOUS FOR STRAIGHTENING THEM OUT WITHOUT THEIR MOTHER'S KNOWLEDGE OF THE TROUBLE BEING CAUSED. WHEN HE WASN'T BEING THE RESPONSIBLE OLDER BROTHER, -JAMES EN-.JOYED PLAYING FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL FOR MAPLE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL WHERE HE GRADUATED VALEDICTORIAN IN 1994. FROM THERE HE WENT ON TO STUDY AT IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY IN AMES, IOWA. WHILE IN AMES, -JAMES EXPLORED VARIOUS MA-.JORS AND EVENTUALLY GRADUATED WITH A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT IN 2005. HIs TIME IN AMES WAS A SPECIAL PART OF -JAMES' LIFE. HE MADE NUMEROUS FRIENDSHIPS AND HELD SEVERAL -.JOBS, MOST NOTABLY AS A POPULAR BARTENDER AT WELCH AVENUE STATION IN CAMPUSTOWN. HE LOVED PLAYING IN A DART LEAGUE AND TRAVELED TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT IN IOWA FOR SEVERAL YEARS. STORIES FROM THOSE TRIPS WILL SURELY BE TOLD AND RETOLD FOR YEARS. IT WAS ALSO IN AMES THAT -JAMES MET AND FELL IN LOVE WITH LAURA GRAPES. PERHAPS IT WAS THE IN-.JURED NOSE FROM A RU N I N WITH A SOFTBALL THAT MADE LAU RA NOTICE -JAMES THE NIGHT THEY FIRST MET. COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE IN EACH OTHER'S COMPANY FROM THE VERY START, THEIR FRIENDS DESCRIBED -JAMES AND LAURA AS THE "OLD MARRIED COUPLE." IT'S NO SURPRISE THAT -JAMES DECLARED "SHE'S THE ONE," IN A PHONE CALL TO HIS MOTHER VERY EARLY IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP. AND -JAMES WAS RIGHT. IN THE YEARS BEFORE THEY MARRIED ON NOVEMBER 21,2006 IN LAS VEGAS, -JAMES AND LAURA CREATED MANY MEMORIES TOGETHER. THEIR TRIP TO PARIS, FRANCE IN AUGUST 2002 WAS ONE OF THE MOST CHERISHED. ALTHOUGH A PLANNER BY NATURE, LAURA TRIED TRAVELING AROUND PARIS IN THE LAID-BACK STYLE -JAMES PREFERRED AND FOR TEN DAYS, THEY FLEW BY THE SEAT OF TH EI R PANTS EXPLORI NG PARIS. IN 2005, -JAMES AND LAURA MOVED TO ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI WHERE -JAMES -.JOINED U.S. BANK WORKING AT THE HILLTOWN, MID RIVERS AND WEST CLAY BRANCHES IN ST. LOUIS AND ST. CHARLES COUNTIES. HE WAS A BELOVED EMPLOYEE, COLLEAGUE AND MANAGER EVERYWHERE HE WENT, WINNING NUMEROUS AWARDS, AND WAS NOTED FOR HIS ABILITY TO SPOT SUSPICIOUS FINANCIAL ACTIVITY LIKE A HAWK. As 2010 APPROACHED, LAURA AND -JAMES EXCITEDLY PREPARED FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THEIR SON, -JAMES RYAN MOHR. ON THAT VALENTINE'S DAY, LAURA GAVE -JAMES A PICTURE FRAME ENGRAVED WITH "ME AND My DADDY." As HE OPENED THE GIFT, -JAMES FELT THE OVERWHELMING EXCITEMENT ABOUT BECOMING A DAD TAKE OVER. -JAMES OFFICIALLY BECAME A FATHER ON FEBRUARY 19,2010. READING TO RYAN WAS ONE OF -JAMES' FAVORITE THINGS TO DO. AND NO TRIP TO THE MALL WAS COMPLETE WITHOUT A RIDE ON THE MERRY-GO-ROUND TOGETHER. KNOWN FOR BEING OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE AND STRONG IN SPIRIT, -JAMES PUT UP A TOUGH FIGHT WITH ANGIOSARCOMA IN 2012. EVEN WHEN -JAMES WASN'T FEELING WELL, HE WAS ALWAYS QUICK TO ASK WHAT HE COULD DO FOR OTHERS IN NEED. HIS ROLLER-COASTER BATTLE WITH CANCER ENDED ON NOVEMBER 9,2012. -JAMES IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, LAURA GRAPES, SON -JAMES RYAN MOHR, MOTHER NORMA MOHR, SIBLINGS LANCE MOHR AND WIFE KRISTIN, RUSSELL MOHR AND WIFE -JENNIFER, AND NEPHEW AND NIECES LANDON, BEAU AND ISABELLE. -JAMES WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS FATHER LESTER MOHR, MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, -JAMES AND CLARA MARTZ, AND PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, -JACK AND MINNIE MOHR.
