Obituary for James M. Boyle
ξJames M. "Jim" Boyle passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa surrounded by his family. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, Iowa. Rev. Dan Greving will officiate. Burial will be in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29 after 5:00 p.m. with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will resume Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time. Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury and Mapleton has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family is receiving condolences on line at www.armstrongfuneral.com. James Martin Boyle was born November 3, 1938, to Thomas and Bernice (Brenner) Boyle at Danbury. He graduated from Danbury Catholic High School with the class of 1957. He then worked on road construction until 1960. Jim dedicated his life to his farming operation until the year 2000. He was a dedicated John Deere man. Jim drove truck for a time but also worked with his sons, Paul and Jason in their farm work. He loved operating a new or different piece of equipment, running for parts, or being the "fix it" man he always was until his final retirement. Fishing was a hobby he always enjoyed when time allowed. Jim was united in marriage to Marlene Lauters on November 12, 1960, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. To this union 8 children were born. Jim treasured his happy loving family above all in his life. ξ Family members left to embrace their memories of Jim include Marlene his wife of 54 years; 8 children, Patricia (Mark) Beedle of Onawa, Iowa, Kathryn Mosier of Newell, Iowa, Dan (Sherry) Boyle and Paul (Kim) Boyle all of Correctionville, Iowa, Theresa (Jerry) Menke of Whiting, Iowa, Jason (Lana) Boyle of Moorhead, Iowa, Janelle (David) McLaughlin of St. Charles, Missouri, and Andy (Jenn) Boyle of Elkhart, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, Miranda (Tony) Arnold, Nikki (Pete) Scriven, Chris (Kelli) Beedle, Tiffany (special friend John Allen) Beedle, Tom Mosier, Trista (Aaron) Beaudette, Megan (fiancee Steve Tatum) Lahr, Logan Boyle, Bryan (Brittany) Boyle, Owen and Jaiden Boyle, Jessica, Abby and Alex Menke, Dylan, Caylie, Kane and Camryn Boyle, Braeden and Tyler McLaughlin, and Landon and Brooklyn Boyle; and 7 great grandchildren, Kiara, Patrick and Natalie Scriven, Morgan Beedle, Charlotte and Olivia Beaudette, and Weston Tatum. He was also survived by his brothers Vince (Dorothy) Boyle of Danbury, Iowa and Bill (Barb) Boyle of Klamath Falls, Oregon; his sisters Marg Nelson of Anthon, Iowa and Sheila Theobald of Danbury, Iowa. Survivors also included Marlene's brothers and sisters, Audrey (Tony) Delperdang of Remsen, Iowa, Pete (Rosie) Lauters of Marcus, Iowa, Barb Lauters of Dodge City, Kansas, Doug (Heidi) Lauters of Marcus, Iowa, Dan (LuAnn) Lauters of Garner, Iowa, and Larry (Sue) Lauters of Runnells, Iowa. ξJim was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Brad Mosier; his parents, Tom and Bernice Boyle; his brothers, Marty Boyle and Bob Boyle and his wife, Marilyn Boyle; brothers-in-law Roger Nelson and Lester Theobald. He was also preceded in death by members of the Lauters family, Jim's father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Mary Lauters; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Jeannine Dreckman, Bob Lauters, and Candance Lauters.ξ
