Gloria D. Champion, age 77, of Onawa, Iowa, (formerly of Rodney, Iowa) passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Elmwood Care Center of Onawa, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Joshua B. Van Houten will officiate. Committal services will follow in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery of Smithland, Iowa.

Gloria Dianne Champion was born on her grandparents’ farm in Monona County, Iowa, on December 13, 1944, to William Howard and Franza (Lundeen) Champion. Her family moved to Grant Center, Iowa, in 1952, where she attended country school.
In 1963, Gloria moved to Rodney, Iowa, where she lived 34 years until she moved to Center Heights in Onawa, Iowa, in 1997.
Gloria enjoyed collecting genealogy about her family, writing to pen pals and family members, and baking.
Gloria is survived by her brother-in-law Donald Lewis of Battle Creek, IA; cousins Sheryl Lundeen (Larry) Pixler of Yuma, AZ, and Larry (Candy) Lundeen of Plymouth, MN, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Howard and Franza Champion, sister Joan Lewis, and other extended family.
