
Evelyn Ann (Johnson) Klockgether, age 86, of Mapleton, Iowa, passed away on April 8, 2025, at her residence of Mapleton, IA.
A Private Family Graveside service was held in Center Cemetery of Castana, IA.

On June 18, 1938, in rural Monona County, Iowa, Evelyn was welcomed into the world by her parents George W. and Leona I. (Leibold) Johnson.
She grew up and lived most of her younger years in Castana, IA, graduating from Castana High School. Evelyn found her lifelong career in healthcare and over the years worked in nursing homes and at Boy’s Town in Omaha, NE.
On December 27, 2000, Evelyn married Henry Klockgether. Spending time with Henry and making memories on trips was the highlight of Evelyn’s later years. The couple enjoyed taking traveling bus tours to New Orleans, Nashville, and the Grand Canyon and a flight out to Spokane, WA.
In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed watching T.V., crocheting and knitting, and was an avid collector of costume jewelry.
Survivors include her husband Henry Klockgether of Mapleton, IA; son George Babb of Sioux City, IA; step children Todd (Jill) Klockgether of Charter Oak, IA and Kim (Doug Nepper) King of Ute, IA; grandchildren Katelyn Klockgether of Ute, IA, and Brianna Klockgether of Charter Oak, IA; sister-in-law Connie Johnson of Ute, IA; and relatives and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents George and Leona Johnson; and brothers Wayne and James Johnson.
