
Obituary for Elnora Jane Dose
Elnora Jane Dose, age 85, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa (formerly of Mapleton, Iowa), passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Embassy Rehab & Care Center of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021, at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa. Rev. Chris LaBoube will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Mapleton, Iowa. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Monday, January 18, 2021, at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa.

Elnora Jane Dose, the daughter of Gerald and Esther (Ruchti) Nathlich, was born on May 11, 1935, in Ute, Iowa. She grew up in rural Mapleton, Iowa and received her education from Mapleton High School.
On November 20, 1955, Elnora was united in marriage to Norman H. Dose in the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa. The couple lived in Mapleton for a year then moved to a farm west of town. Later the family moved to the Bennett farm near Smithland, Iowa. They lived in Danbury, Iowa, for a year and moved back to Mapleton in 1984. Elnora enjoyed being a farmwife and homemaker.
In her younger years Elnora was active in the Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, the Birthday Club, and the Ute Quilting Club. She was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In her later years Elnora moved to the Prime Living Apartments in Sioux City, Iowa and then to the Embassy Rehab & Care Center in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
Left to cherish her memory include her son Kevin Dose of Mapleton, IA; siblings Charlie (Nancy) Nathlich of Sioux City, IA, Helen Nathlich-Farley of Council Bluffs, IA, Gerald (Laura) Nathlich, Jr. of Woodward, IA and John (Donna) Nathlich of Omaha, NE; brothers-in-law Leo (Florice) Dose of Mapleton, IA and Bud (Darlene) Dose of Anthon, IA; sister-in-law Pauline (Orville) Hummelgard of Battle Creek, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norman Dose (2005); daughter Deborah Dose (2019), infant children Patricia and Greggory; sister Mary Ann (Larry) Benesh; and sister-in-law Norma Jean Dose.
