A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Mr. Richard Carlson will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Heisler Cemetery of Mapleton, Iowa. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, masks are encouraged and social distancing rules apply.

Doris Marie (Barber) Morris was born, May 3, 1939, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Delno and Norene (Luke) Barber. She was raised along with her only sibling, Deanna, by her Grandmother Clella Luke after her mother suffered an illness. She attended school and went to the United Church of Christ in Mapleton. She grew to be a devout Christian and shared her faith with all her children.
Doris worked very hard to raise her children. She held various jobs including Farmland Foods, House of Raeford, Piggly Wiggly, Wellman textile plant, and even as a nanny for a while.
She is survived by her seven children. They include three daughters: Brenda Dudley of Hemingway, SC, Becky (Donny) Seelow of Pacific, WA and Jodi Hardcastle of Hudson, NH; four sons John (Patty) Carlson of Bellevue, NE, Roger (Shirley) Carlson of Auburn, WA, Richard (Sheila) Carlson of Millington, TN and Ryan Noyes (Libby Johnson) of Reading, MA. She always told her children, “I love you all the same and I love you with all my heart!” Doris is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sister Deanna and grandsons Brian, Keith and Michael.
