Donna Petersen, 89, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Avera Prince of Peace of Sioux Falls, SD.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2021, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Mapleton, IA. Father William McCarthy will officiate. Donna Mae Kueny was born on January 9, 1932, to Charles and Violet (Schrunk) Kueny in Mapleton, Iowa. She attended Maple Valley High School in Mapleton.
She was united in marriage to Robert Petersen on January 13, 1951, in Mapleton, IA.
Donna grew up in Iowa, farmed in Iowa, and eventually would winter in Yuma, AZ, after retiring in Freeman, SD.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children Tom (Karlyn) Petersen of Sioux Falls, SD and Pamela Petersen of Westfield, IA; and one granddaughter, Amber (Steve) Kielman of Brandon, SD.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Robert Petersen (October 5, 2011); parents Charles and Violet Kueny; and one brother Maurice Kueny.
