Obituary for Don Ketelsen
Anthon, IA - Donald D. Ketelsen, 62, of Anthon, Iowa passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa. Funeral services will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 Arnold Street, Anthon, Iowa with Pastor Timothy Chase officiating. Burial will be in Oak HIll Cemetery at Anthon. Visitation will be Thursday, October 11 after 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 402 East Brady Street, Anthon, Iowa. Donald Duane Ketelsen was born December 2, 1949, the son of Martin and Mary (Sands) Ketelsen on the family farm west of Anthon, Iowa. He grew up in the Anthon area and graduated from Anthon High School with the class of 1968. He also attended a series of classes at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City After high school, Don started his career in farming which he pursued throughout his lifetime. He also worked at the Woodbury County Landfill which is now operated by Gill Hauling. Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anthon. He enjoyed life on the farm and going to farm sales. He also liked doing a little fishing and hunting. Survivors include two brothers, Bill Ketelsen of Anthon, Iowa and Larry Ketelsen of Kingsley, Iowa. Don was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou; and three brothers, Tommy, Marty, and one brother in infancy.
