Obituary for Danny L. Petersen
Danny L. Petersen, age 65, of Anthon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Correctionville Specialty Care of Correctionville, Iowa.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Illinois. The Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Anthon, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent online www.armstrongfuneral.com.
Danny Lynn Petersen, the son of Richard L. and Maudie L. (Weaver) Petersen, was born on July 6, 1955, in Vinton, Iowa. He received his education at and graduated from Pekin High School. After high school his family moved to Blencoe, Iowa, where he and his father began working at the Blencoe Elevator.
For a number of years Danny worked in agronomy sales. He was blessed with four children: Lisa, Richard, Jennifer and Ian. Danny eventually moved to Illinois where he and his father began a trucking company. From there he relocated to the Eddyville, Iowa, area for a number of years while continuing to truck before moving to Anthon, Iowa, in 2015.
Danny was a loving and devoted son, brother, and father. He treasured time spent with his family. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and the New York Yankees. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory include his children Lisa Petersen (fiancé Jason Pritchard) of Anthon, IA, Richard Petersen of Royalton, IL, Jennifer (Charles) Price of Royalton, IL and Ian Petersen (significant other Demi Moore) of Oskaloosa, IA; grandchildren Taylor Price, Janson and Sawyer DeVio; mother Maudie Petersen of Royalton, IL; brothers Dennis Petersen of Centralia, IL and David Petersen of California; sister Denise Jones of Carterville, IL; nephews Ray and Luke Jones; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by father Richard Petersen.
