Obituary for Chester Clay Neville
Chester C. Neville, age 86, of Holstein, Iowa, formerly of Danbury, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Rev. Sheryl K. Ashley will officiate. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on January 9, 2019, at the Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Committal will follow in the Danbury Cemetery of Danbury, Iowa. The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home Mapleton, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Chester Clay Neville, the son of Floyd and Emma (Otterpohl) Neville, was born on July 24, 1932, in Boyer, Iowa. He attended country school and later graduated from Cushing High School with the class of 1951. Shortly after high school Chester was drafted into the United States Army. He served two years overseas during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in April of 1954.
Chester returned home and started farming for three years before starting his career as a truck driver. Chester married Betty Christophersen and the couple had three children Chester JR., Sharman, and Jeffery. The couple later separated.
Chester enjoyed the great outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, and watch the Kansas City Royals play ball.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Bill Riecks.
Chester is survived by his brother Lloyd (special friend Shirley Rohlf) Neville of Danbury, IA; sisters Hazel Riecks of Mapleton, IA and Donna (David) Forbes of Ida Grove, IA; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
