Chad M. Gloede, age 38, of Mapleton, IA passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the CHI Health- Lakeside Hospital of Omaha, Nebraska.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, IA. Rev. Dean Christ will officiate; Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Armstrong – Van Houten Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa. Chad Matthew Gloede the son of Allen “Bud” Gloede and Michele (Jensen) Phillips was born on September 15, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Chad grew up in Omaha and graduated from Millard North High School.
Following in his Father and brother Scott’s footsteps with his love of horticulture and landscaping, he worked in Iowa, Omaha, and Northern California.
Chad enjoyed listening to music, camping, fishing, boating, spending time with family and friends, and he adored his niece Taylor and nephew Scott.
He was preceded in death by his brother Scott Gloede, maternal grandparents Irene and Meinert Jensen, paternal grandparents Phyllis and Edward Baak and Wilbur Gloede, an aunt and an uncle.
Chad is survived by his parents Michele (Robert) Phillips of Derby, IA and Allen “Bud” Gloede of Mapleton, IA; sister Andrea Gloede of Mapleton, IA; niece Taylor Sandy and nephew Scott Offutt; step brother Sean Phillips and family; step sister Carol Miller and family; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chad will continue to live on through the gift of organ donation.
