Brian Charles Dose was born to Charles “Bud” and Darlene (Pautsch) Dose on December 21, 1962, in Denison, Iowa. He grew up on a farm near Danbury, Iowa and graduated from Anthon-Oto High School with the class of 1981. While in high school, Brian participated in football and baseball.

He was baptized, confirmed, and married in the St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa. His marriage to Denise Lillie blessed the couple with three beautiful children: Briana, Brady, and RaeAnn. The couple later parted ways.

An avid outdoorsman, Brian had a love for hunting and trapping. He had a hunter’s instinct that can’t quite be put into words. It seemed that he was at the right place at the right time, every time. If he wasn’t hunting or trapping, he could be found at his children’s sporting events cheering, and possibly instigating from the opponents' section or behind home plate.

Brian was known for his playful personality, giving nicknames to folks that turned into their lifelong aliases. He was also known for pulling a prank or two once in a while. Brian had a love for farming which continued throughout his life. He loved to share stories and laughs of all of his adventures. But most of all, he loved his family, especially his kids and his grandson Noah aka “Walleye Winkie”.

In 2023 Brian retired from concrete and masonry work. He was a member of the Local 405 Laborers Union. Most notably, Brian worked on the U.S. Bank Stadium which is home of the Minnesota Vikings and the Highway 43 Bridge in Winona, Minnesota, over the Mississippi River. After Hurricane Katrina, he volunteered to run a boom truck to help clear the wreckage.

Those thankful for sharing in Brian’s life include his mother Darlene of Anthon, IA; his children Briana (Jerry) of Onamia, MN, Brady (Katie) of Kasota, MN, RaeAnn (Kyle) of Cologne, MN and Cody of Chicago, IL; grandson, Noah and granddaughter, Trista; brothers Jeff of Wakefield, NE, Randy of Parker, CO and Brad (Dee) of Anthon, IA; sister Kim (Wally) Handke of Anthon, IA; several nieces, nephews, extended, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Bud; two sisters-in-law Juanita Dose and Nancy Dose; and nephew Jared Dose.
