Bradley David Rose, the son of David L. and Rita I. (O’Connor) Rose, was born on December 7, 1979, in Onawa, Iowa. He grew up on a farm near Mapleton, Iowa and received his education from Maple Valley High School graduating with the class of 1998. After high school, Brad attended Iowa Lakes Community College before transferring to Kirkwood Community College to pursue landscape design.

While attending Kirkwood, Brad met his best friend and the love of his life, Megan L. Miller. The couple were united in marriage on July 7, 2001, in Panora, Iowa. Brad and Megan made their first home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and welcomed their oldest daughter, Harlee. Brad worked as a landscape designer and was later employed in sales for Pepsi, Co for 17 years.

In 2007, the family moved to Polk City, Iowa, where they welcomed their son Hudson and daughter Hayden. Brad began his current employment, for which he was very passionate about, as a Territory Sales Manager of Lift Trucks for Van Wall Equipment in 2019. Farming, however, has always been a part of who Brad was. It began in his youth helping on his parents’ farm, but he always dreamed of owning his own land. In 2020, his dream came true when he purchased Flathead Farms near Castana, Iowa. Brad loved spending time there with his family not only working the soil but fishing the pond and hunting the timber.

Family was the most important thing to Brad. He treasured spending time with them whether it was traveling on family vacations, going to concerts, riding side-by-sides, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, or attending his children’s activities. As an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Brad and Megan spent many Saturdays in Iowa City attending football games with family and friends. Brad also loved to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs. He was known to be an amazing cook especially when it came to smoking meats or grilling. Brad never knew a stranger and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 23 years Megan Rose of Polk City, IA; children Harlee Louise Rose of Luther, IA, Hudson Bradley Rose of Polk City, IA and Hayden Kaylene Rose of Polk City, IA; mother Rita Rose of Mapleton, IA; sister Heather (David) Johansen of Martensdale, IA; grandmother DiAnn Rose of Mapleton, IA; mother-in-law Barbara Miller of Yale, IA; brother-in-law Matthew Miller of Des Moines, IA; niece and nephew Skylar and Brodie Johansen; niece Morgan Weibel; guardian to Jack of Mapleton, IA; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father David Rose; father-in-law Dale Miller; paternal grandfather Lyle Rose; maternal grandparents Darrell and Florence O’Connor; cousins Lucas Jensen and Suzanne Schleis.
