Obituary for Bob Wright
Robert "Bob" Wright was born on September 30, 1951, in New Providence, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Arlene (Lawler) Wright. The family moved to a farm east of Anthon in 1952. Bob graduated from Anthon-Oto High School in 1970. He farmed with his Dad until 1983. He graduated from Briar Cliff College in 1985 with a degree in accounting. He worked for Welte Tax Service in Danbury for two years. In 1987, he started his own tax service, Wright Bookkeeping. He continued this business until his death. Bob was united in marriage to Joni Smith on September 25, 1981. To this union two sons were born, Brad and Brady, who were the light of his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton and the Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed going to his sons' activities and spending time with their friends. Bob was an enthusiastic supporter of Maple Valley Anthon Oto athletics with his constant presence in the gym cheering for the Rams. Bob enjoyed his hobby of collecting toy tractors. He is survived by his sons, Brad and Brady Wright both of Mapleton; his mother, Arlene Wright of Battle Creek; a brother, Keith Wright of Anthon; his sisters, Carma (Jon) Manns of Lake Charles, La., Deb ( Stan) Todd of Cushing, Sandy (Bill) Ortner of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Wright; a brother, Anthony Wright; and a nephew, Nathan Todd.
