Obituary for Bob Crist
Rodney, IA - Bob Crist, 61, of Rodney, Iowa and formerly of South Elgin, Illinois died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Rodney following a long illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Elgin, Illinois. Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements. Robert "Bob" Patrick Crist was born December 29, 1951, at Savanna, Illinois, the son of Robert L. and Florence (McCarthy) Crist. He grew up in the area and was educated in Addison, Illinois. He resided in Illinois throughout his life until a recent move to Rodney, Iowa to be near his daughter, Brenda Hamann and her family. Bob was married to Barbara Labadie in 1972. He worked in the Chicago area as a locomotive engineer in the Metra/Milwaukee Railroad. He found personal satisfaction in his dedication to his work from which he retired two years ago. Survivors include his wife, Barb, of Rodney; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Shawn Hamann of Rodney and Kim and Darrell Pittman of South Elgin, Illinois; two sons, Tony Crist of Woodstock, Illinois and Dan Crist of Dubuque, Iowa; six grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Kyra, Shaylee, Kylee, and Korbin; five step grandchildren Katelynn, Samantha, Brittany, Troy, and Amy; his mother, Florence "Fussy" Remrey of Savanna, Illinois; one brother, Tom Crist of Dubuque, Iowa; and three sisters and their husbands, Dane and Gary Baglin of Savanna, Illinois, Martha and Steve Lovely of Baltimore, Maryland, and Rae Ann and Dave Reynolds of Savanna, Illinois.
