Peter White Fitzpatrick, the son of Charles and Marie (White) Fitzpatrick, was born January 6, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm north of Danbury, Iowa. Pete graduated high school from Maur-Hill Mount Academy in Atchison, KS. After high school he attended Loras College and the University of South Dakota until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge from the service in 1957, he returned to Danbury and was engaged in farming until his recent passing.

On December 28, 1963, Pete was united in marriage to Kathleen Curran at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD. The couple made their home on the family farm near Danbury and were blessed with four children: Maurna, Mollie, P.C., and Matt.

Pete was a humble, hardworking, faith based man. His beloved wife, Kathleen, his children, their spouses and his grandchildren were his greatest joys as well as his extended family and friends. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and the love of his family farm. Spending time with his family and friends was what he enjoyed doing. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed following politics, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Danbury, IA; children Maurna (Joel) Johnson of West Des Moines, IA, Mollie (Tim) Murano of West Des Moines, IA, P.C. (Deb) Fitzpatrick of Chicago, IL and Matt (Darlene) Fitzpatrick of Danbury, IA; nine grandchildren: Charlie and Anna Johnson, Megan and Dan Murano, Norah, Anderson and Gunnar Fitzpatrick, and Molly and J.T. Fitzpatrick; sister Mary Fitzpatrick of Holstein, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marie Fitzpatrick and his sister Ann Fitzpatrick.
